Motorists who travel through the work zone for the Old Beatty Ford Road project will encounter a traffic shift at its intersection with Lentz Road.

N.C. Department of Transportation contractors created a new intersection for the roadway “due to safety and capacity challenges in this area,” said Kelly Seitz, the DOT Division 9 resident engineer.

Traffic will be shifted in phases onto the new asphalt pavement Friday, weather permitting.

The project, including the new interchange for the Interstate 85 improvement project, is scheduled to be complete by November 2019.
