25th annual Labor Day at the HBJ Post 

The 25th annual Labor Day get-together at the Harold B. Jarrett Post 342 is from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans all the trimmings as well as corn hole and other lawn games. Annual Dukeville/Trading Ford reunion

SPENCER — The annual Dukeville/Trading Ford reunion will be held at Oakdale Baptist Church’s family life center, on Charles Street, on Saturday, Sept. 9. Covered dish lunch is at noon. This reunion is for any who attended Dukeville School, lived in the Dukeville Village or Trading Ford area. Come early for the time of fellowship before the noon meal.

 

Misenheimer reunion

MT. PLEASANT — The Misenheimer family reunion is Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church community building, 6200 Mount Olive Church Road. Doors open at 3 p.m. Bring a covered dish, tea and serving utensils.

Learn Modern Western Square Dancing

Youth mentors needed for after school arts program

Center for Faith & the Arts, through its Wake Up Leonardo program, has partnered with the Barnabas Connection at St. John’s Lutheran Church to help bring art and contemplation to at-risk youth.

The 2017/18 year of The Barnabas Connection is about to begin and volunteer mentors for the program are needed.

This is an after-school program that meets each Thursday afternoon from 2:30-5 p.m. beginning Oct. 5. Mentors will participate in mentor training in September and must complete an online training and background check with Safegatherings.com
