Police: Man wanted in August shooting arrested in Georgia

SALISBURY — A man wanted in an Aug. 27 shooting and stabbing at a Vanderford Street home was arrested in Georgia, police officials said Thursday.

Few details were provided, but the Salisbury Police Department says Eric George Hyman, 29, of the 100 block of Clancy Street, is in custody and expected to be extradited to Salisbury sooon.

Officials say Hyman shot and stabbed Rodney Carpenter during a home invasion. The crime was not random, police have said.

Hyman is wanted for attempted first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
