SALISBURY — Police say an East Spencer man was seriously injured early Sunday after he was shot at a Green Street home.
No arrest has been made.
The shooting occurred at 3 a.m. at 802 Green St., where a crowd of people were gathered. Someone called to report that multiple shots were fired.
When Salisbury police officers arrived, they found that Corey Parnell Sims, 28, had been shot and taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
He was later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Sims was shot multiple times. His condition was not immediately available.
The initial description of what occurred was that it was a drive-by shooting, but Lingle said police have not confirmed that the gunshots came from a vehicle.
The shooting appears to have occurred among people at the house, but police detectives continue to investigate. No one else was injured.
Lingle said those at the home were not cooperative with investigators.
