SALISBURY — Christopher Payne, 38, has been arrested in the robbery of the Rushco convenience store at 2480 Statesville Blvd.

Payne was found and arrested Thursday. The outstanding warrants against him were for robbery with a firearm, attempted common law robbery, and hit and run causing property damage.

He is being held under a $32,000 secure bond.

Authorities say Payne entered the Ruscho about 7 p.m. Sunday with something wrapped around his hand. He told the clerk that she had to give him money or he’d shoot her.

Authorities did not say how much money Payne is accused of stealing from the register.
