State Fair livestock winners

RALEIGH – Winners in the opening weekend of the N.C. State Fair livestock competitions have been announced. Local winners came from Rowan, Stanly and Davidson counties.

Rowan County winners include:

  • The grand champion Gelbvieh junior beef heifer shown by Austin Teeter of Mount Ulla.
  • The reserve grand champion and grand champion junior ewe meat breeds or junior market lamb Got to Be NC shown by Lydia Wilson of China Grove.

Davidson County winners include:

  • Reserve champion junior market steer or junior beef heifer showmanship in the senior plus division shown by Joseph Groce of Lexington.

Stanly County winners include:

  • Market hog grand champion shown by Eric Huneycutt of Albemarle.
  • Market hog reserve grand champion shown by Griffin Huneycutt of Albemarle.
  • Market barrow grand champion shown by Eric Huneycutt of Albemarle.
  • Market barrow reserve grand champion shown by Griffin Huneycutt of Albemarle.
  • Red Angus junior beef heifer reserve grand champion and grand champion Got to Be NC shown by Marcie Harward of Richfield.
  • Angus junior beef heifer grand champion shown by Marcie Harward of Richfield.
  • Angus junior beef heifer reserve grand champion shown by Mattie Harward of Richfield.
  • Charolais junior beef heifer grand champion shown by Mattie Harward of Richfield.
  • Charolais junior beef heifer grand champion Got to Be NC shown by Mattie Harward of Richfield.
  • All other breeds junior beef heifer reserve grand champion and grand champion Got to Be NC shown by Marcie Harward of Richfield.
  • Junior heifer calf showmanship reserve grand champion in the intermediate division shown by Bruce Cuddy of Albemarle.
  • Grand champion junior heifer calf showmanship in the senior division shown by Brooke Harward of Richfield.
  • Junior female beef cattle showmanship reserve grand champion in the senior division shown by Brooke Harward of Richfield.
  • Junior female beef cattle showmanship overall grand champion shown by Brooke Harward of Richfield.
