SALISBURY — A customer at a convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon. Within minutes, police officers arrested the suspect not far from where the robbery occurred, a report said.

Warren Antonio Still, 35, was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon; misdemeanor resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer; and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.

The victim was coming out of the Speedway store at 500 E. Innes St. about 3:40 p.m. when Still approached him.

Salisbury police officials said Still pulled out a gun and the victim gave him all the money in his wallet, which was just over $300. The victim gave a description of the robber and an officer near the corner of Long Street and Park Avenue spotted someone who matched it.

Still had a Glock 22 pistol in his possession, police said. The officer and Still got into a struggle, but he was eventually apprehended. When police searched him, Still had $340 on him.

Still remains in the Rowan County jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

Still has previous convictions for assault by strangulation, traffic infractions, simple possession of marijuana, larceny, and felony drug possession.
