Police still investigating Friday night’s homicide at Taco Bell

SALISBURY — No arrests were reported and the victim’s name had yet to be released Saturday after the Friday night shooting death of a man at the East Innes Street Taco Bell.
“Detectives are following up on very good leads,” Capt. Shelia Lingle said Saturday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the Taco Bell parking lot at 602 E. Innes St. The 30-year-old male victim ran from the scene into the FT Tobacco and Vape store next door and collapsed.
He was transported to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center, where he died of a gunshot wound, police said.
Salisbury Police responded to the Taco Bell at 8:44 p.m. Friday.
Customers were kept inside the restaurant as officers combed the area. Police dogs also were called in.
Several vehicles in the Taco Bell and the neighboring KFC parkings lot were damaged by shots.
The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Salisbury Police on the case.
