Landis man convicted of heroin, meth possession, breaking and entering

SALISBURY — A Landis man was convicted this week of drug possession and breaking and entering offenses in Rowan County Superior Court.
John Thomas “J.T.” Hall, 42, was convicted of two counts of felony breaking and entering; two counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering; felony possession of heroin; and felony possession of methamphetamine.
He admitted his status as a habitual felon. Superior Court Judge Anna Mills Wagoner sentenced Hall to from five and a half to just over seven and half years in prison.
Hall has previous convictions that include felony breaking and entering, felony larceny of a dog, and felony possession of cocaine.
On March 5, a homeowner reported to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office that his residence was broken into, authorities said.
The residence was being remodeled and several pieces of equipment that were left inside had been taken. A window had been left open by the homeowner.
On March 12, someone reported that construction equipment was stolen from a home he was remodeling in Landis. During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office found several items that had been stolen. The determined that Hall had committed the thefts.
Rowan County District Attorney Brandy Cook said she appreciates the joint efforts of Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Greene and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office to hold Hall accountable for his criminal conduct.
