SALISBURY — A Salisbury teenager tried to steal a purse from a woman leaving West End Plaza, according to police.
The woman told police that three young men approached her and tried to take her purse. They then ran toward Badcock Furniture, she said.
The woman was able to give police a detailed description of the suspects. Officers searched the area and found a teenager who matched the description of one of them.
Police say they found Daniel Pastor Cruz-Najar near Lakewood Apartments. The women identified Cruz-Najar as one of the men who approached her.
Cruz-Najar, 16, was charged with attempted felony common law robbery. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond
