SALISBURY — Rowan County’s first baby of the new year was born at 6:45 a.m. Monday, according to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

The baby boy is Nyaire Zion Hogans. He weighed 6 pounds and 12.6 ounces and was 21 inches long, according to the hospital, where he was delivered.

Nyaire’s parents are Deasha Jones and Kinshaudi Hogans of Salisbury. He was delivered by Dr. Michael Mills.

Nyaire has one brother, Peyton Jujuan Jones, who is 3.
