Samuel Wesley Allen and Betty Parker Allen of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24, 2017 with a month long trip to North Myrtle Beach in October and a reception that was hosted by family on Dec. 30, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church in Salisbury.

The Allens were united in marriage on Dec. 24, 1967 at East Corinth Baptist Church in Gold Hill by the Rev. Joe King. Samuel retired from Kosa, formerly Fiber Industries, where he worked in the shipping department for 34 years. Betty retired from Wal-Mart where she worked in the office for 27 years.
