Published 7:06 am Thursday, January 18, 2018
The 7 a.m. temperature in Rowan is 8 degrees.
Our area is under a Winter Weather Advisory today until 1 p.m., with the main problem being black ice, or in the case of many roads, very visible white ice where snow has been compacted down by traffic or plows.
Roadways this morning are slippery; drive slowly and with caution. What looks like snow in some places is just a light coating over ice.
It will become sunny later, and we’ll have a high of 37, with some melting. Winds will be from the west northwest at 5-8 mph.
The low tonight, 19, will just refreeze what’s left.
Expect more melting Friday, which will be sunny with a high of 50 and light west wind. The low will be 22 with southwest wind around 5 mph calming overnight.
Saturday will be sunny and 54, with more southwest winds around 5 mph. The low will be 30.
