Monroe pair charged with meth ice possession

SALISBURY — Rowan County authorities charged a Union County man and woman with having methamphetamine ice after a traffic stop Tuesday on Jake Alexander Boulevard.
The driver, Jason Lee Conde, 35, of the 4800 block of West U.S. 74 in Monroe, had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and had a fictitious license plate. Officers searched his vehicle and found 14 grams of methamphetamine ice.
Conde was charged with conspiracy to sell or deliver methamphetamine; possession with intent to sell or deliver meth; fleeing to elude arrest; reckless driving; and failure to appear in court. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $13,000 secured bond.
The passenger, Monica Lynn Brown, 36, of the same address, was charged with conspiracy to sell or deliver methamphetamine. She was issued a $5,000 secured and remains in the county jail.
Conde has an extensive criminal history that includes convictions for felony larceny, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, simple assault, misdemeanor drug possession and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
