SALISBURY — A Lexington man who was wanted in a Tuesday armed robbery was arrested overnight in Forsyth County, local officials said.

Arrest warrants were issued Wednesday for Richard Macon Dunn, 32, who is believed to have taken Forsyth authorities on a vehicle chase before his arrest.

On Tuesday, Dunn ate a meal at Waffle House, 501 E. Innes St., and skipped out on paying, the warrants said. Sometime later, he was caught on surveillance video at Family Dollar, according to police.

The Salisbury Police Department says Dunn held up the store at 410 E. Innes St. and left with cash.

Police in Danville, Virginia, also say Dunn robbed a Dairy Queen on Tuesday night. They said Dunn robbed the restaurant at knifepoint just before 9 p.m. He was seen wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans and glasses.

No one was injured in that robbery, either.

Forsyth County officials charged Dunn with driving while impaired and fleeing to elude arrest.
