Two charged with distributing heroin and meth

SALISBURY Two Rowan County residents were charged Tuesday with trafficking in heroin and methamphetamine by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Joseph Donald Poole, 151 Keck St., and seized about 11.9 grams of heroin, 10.6 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Poole was charged with trafficking in heroin by possession, possessession with intent to sell methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling controlled substances, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy to sell heroin.
In a related matter, Ryan Anthony Wright was charged with possession with intent to sell heroin, possession of heroin, and maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling controlled substances.
The charges against Wright and the conspiracy charge against Poole are related to a January sale of heroin.
Poole’s bond was set at $150,000, while Wright’s bond was $10,000.
Poole has felony convictions for drug possession and was on supervised probation.
Wright has numerous misdemeanor convictions for an assortment of offenses.
