Deadline to register for February PIP breakfast today

SALISBURY — The reservation deadline for the February Power in Partnership breakfast is today.
Paul Wetenhall of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Ventureprise Inc. will speak about regional entrepreneurial development resources at the breakfast, scheduled at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road.
UNC-Charlotte will sponsor the program.
Wetenhall is executive director of Ventureprise, UNC-Charlotte’s innovation and entrepreneurship center.
In his previous work as president of High Tech Rochester Inc. — and since joining Ventureprise and UNC-Charlotte in 2008 — Wetenhall has assisted more than 150 innovation-driven ventures.
Wetenhall has been a leader in entrepreneurial economic development initiatives in North Carolina and New York, and he is active in the NSF National Innovation Network.
He recently led the creation of the Charlotte Entrepreneur Growth Report and served on the Charlotte regional economic development strategic plan task force.
Wetenhall is a founder of two software firms, has served as a corporate director and has been an entrepreneurship lecturer at several universities.
Previously, he was in management roles for Xerox Corp. He is an engineering graduate of Georgia Tech and earned his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill.
The dates for the remaining 2018 PIP series are: March 15, which will focus on agribusiness; April 19, focused on health care; and May 17, which will feature the Leadership Rowan graduation.
The breakfast is open to the public. For those who are not Power Card holders, individual reservations can be made by 5 p.m. today.
The cost is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. The price includes breakfast.
