Rowan weather: Rain is on the way

You’ll see plenty of rain this afternoon and tomorrow, and then Friday will be a very windy day, but clear.

Today we have a 70 percent chance of showers, with rain before 4 p.m., showers, then more steady rain after 5. It will be cloudy and 56 with south wind around 6 mph this afternoon. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, expect rain through 9 p.m., then showers and patchy fog. The low will be 50. The chance of rain is 90 percent, with a quarter to half inch of rain possible.

Thursday includes the chance of a thunderstorms in its 90 percent chance of rain. Patchy fog will hang around in the morning. It will be 62 with southwest wind at 9-14 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. A half to three-quarters of an inch of rain is expected.

Thursday night, the chance of rain drops to 30 percent, with clearing throughout the evening. The low will be 41, with west wind at 13-16 mph and gusts up to 24 mph.

Friday is going to be, as Winnie the Pooh says, “A very blustery day.” It will be sunny and 57, with northwest wind in the morning at 11-16 mph; winds will increase to 17-22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Friday night will be clear and cold, with a low of 34.

The weekend will be beautiful. Saturday will be sunny and 55, with a low of 32.

Sunday will be sunny and 56, with a low of 33.

Monday will be mostly sunny and 56. The evening will be mostly cloudy and 38.

Then it’s back to showers on Tuesday, a 50 percent chance, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 55.
