SALISBURY — Salisbury police charged a local man with possession of marijuana after a weekend traffic stop at Gold Hill Drive and Rowan Avenue.

Police charged Christopher Eugene Sumner, 36, of the 300 block of Barbour Street, with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance Schedule VI, felony possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI and two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was issued a $10,000 secured bond.

Sumner has previous convictions for felony possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II substance, and possession of marijuana.

• A man on Friday reported a larceny at Cricket Wireless, 1040 Freeland Drive.

• A woman on Friday reported credit card fraud at 1935 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., West End Plaza.

• A woman on Friday reported vandalism at her residence between March 21 and Friday in the 700 block of Grace Street.

• Teresa Ann Burgess, 48, was charged Friday with misdemeanor simple assault and Dennis Anthony Burgess, 30, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 1000 block of Lincolnton Road.

• Tacara Lorraine Cox, 30, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor simple assault while at the Rowan County Detention Center.

• Jerry Jaquan Monroe, 27, was charged Sunday with felony possession of stolen goods in the 600 block of Statesville Boulevard.

• A woman on Friday reported a physical assault in the 100 block of Delinda Drive, Rockwell.

• A man on Friday reported a burglary in the 200 block of Russell Farm Road, Kannapolis.

• A man on Friday reported a burglary in the 800 block of Scercy Road, China Grove.

• A man reported someone stole his vehicle from the 1000 block of Higgins Way.

• The Hot Dog Shack reported a burglary at 6266 U.S. 601 on Saturday.

• A man on Saturday reported a larceny in the 15300 block of Mooresville Road, Mooresville.

• A man reported his vehicle was stolen Saturday in the 3500 block of Dogwood Court.

• A woman reported on Saturday her property was broken into in the 300 block of Russell Ridge Road, Gold Hill.

• A woman on Sunday reported a burglary in the 1200 block of Stone Avenue, Kannapolis.

• A woman on Sunday reported vandalism in the 300 block of Earnest Miller Road between Saturday and Sunday.

• A woman on Sunday reported a physical assault in the 600 block of Settlers Grove Lane.

• Clint Dale Mills, 35, was charged Friday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor probation violation in the 200 block of Shellie Drive, Rockwell.

• Jeri Lynn Patrick, 32, was charged Friday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 200 block of Shellie Drive, Rockwell.

• Juan Portain Diaz, 67, was charged Friday with felony attempted statutory rape in the 400 block of Grace Church Road.

• Lucas Oneal Sartain, 36, was charged Friday with felony obtaining property by false pretenses in the 100 block of Crystal Creek Drive, China Grove.
