SALISBURY — A man used a Walmart employee’s vest to steal two 58-inch televisions from the store, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
The man is also wanted for similar thefts in other areas.
Police said the black, heavy-set man went into the stockroom of the store and got a cart. He went to the electronics aisle and picked out two Samsung TVs valued at $558 each.
He then went to the tool aisle and removed the anti-theft devices from the TVs, police said.
He loaded the TVs into a black sport utility vehicle and returned the cart.
Police officials say the same man is linked to similar thefts in Greensboro, Charlotte, Concord and Kannapolis.
An online search shows that this type of theft has happened nationwide often over the past few years.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Salisbury-Rowan CrimeStoppers at 866-639-5245.
