Blotter: Thieves steal cartons of cigarettes, cases of beer from Bostian Heights Grocery

SALISBURY — Bostian Heights Grocery reported Tuesday that someone broke into the store and stole multiple cartons of cigarettes and cases of beer.
The store is at 2910 E. N.C. 152 in China Grove.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the break-in, which occurred just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.
In other Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
• A man reported Tuesday that someone took items from his vehicle between April 16 and Sunday in the 4000 block of Foster Road, Cleveland.
• An assault was reported Tuesday in the 1500 block of Peeler Road.
• A woman reported Tuesday that she was the victim of a gun assault between April 19 and Tuesday in the 200 block of Westhaven Way, China Grove.
• A man on Tuesday said his home was burglarized in the 2500 block of Providence Church Road.
• Miller’s Used Cars reported Tuesday that a vehicle was stolen from the dealership, 2038 N. U.S. 29.
• A woman on Tuesday reported a larceny in the 100 block of Indian Trail.
• Walker Gene Welch, 18, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI in the 200 block of N.C. Finishing Lane.
• Randy Lee Church, 54, was charged Tuesday with being a habitual felon at the Rowan County jail annex.
• Roger Dale Bostian, 53, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon in the 200 block of Westhaven Way, China Grove.
In Salisbury Police Department reports:
• A woman on Wednesday reported a vehicle break-in while at McLaughlin’s Grocery, 1210 W. Monroe St.
• Norfolk Southern Railroad reported Wednesday that someone stole tools from a vehicle parked at the Hurley YMCA, 828 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.
• A woman reported shots fired Wednesday in the 1000 block of West Bank Street.
• Jermain Antonio Adams, 25, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 100 block of East Liberty Street.
