SALISBURY — A forum for candidates for Rowan County commissioner is scheduled this evening at Catawba College.

The forum will be at 6 p.m. in Tom Smith Auditorium of Ketner Hall, 2394 Yost St.

The forum is sponsored by WSAT, the Salisbury Post, Catawba College and the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce.

Campaign buttons will be permitted, but no signs, campaign materials or mascots will be allowed in Ketner Hall, chamber President Elaine Spalding said in an email to candidates.

Candidates were also asked to refrain from putting campaign signs on the Catawba campus.

Moderator Michael Bitzer, a professor of political science at Catawba, will ask the candidates questions submitted by the public.

The forum is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. It will be broadcast on WSAT 1280 radio.
