CHINA GROVE – The Market at the Mill will kick off its ninth season Friday, May 4, at the China Grove Roller Mill, 308 N. Main St.

The farmers’ market will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. every Friday, May to September.  Vendor fees are $5 per week. New vendors are welcomed.

The Market is sponsored by the Rowan Museum.

The Market at the Mill offers shoppers fresh produce and other items and the chance to sit on the porch to visit with friends and neighbors.

Lexington Farmers Market

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Farmers Market opens its 2018 season Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Depot at 129 S. Railroad Street.

“The Lexington Farmers Market isn’t just another place to buy produce and plants,” says Beth Leonard, president of the Lexington Farmers Market Association. “It’s about getting to talk to the farmers who grow your food and the other vendors who grow your flowers, bake your bread, and handcraft the beautiful gifts you give. It’s as much about community and connection as it is about the products you can buy there.”

Shoppers can expect to find about 20 vendors with produce, eggs, meat, baked goods, fresh juices, cut flowers, bedding plants, houseplants, crafts and more in the early weeks of the 2018 season. As the weather warms, the market will likely grow to more than 30 vendors with an even wider variety of products.

The market will host special events every few weeks, including a Craft Day on May 19. “Our special events are fun, free educational opportunities that often include cooking and crafting demonstrations, contests, and music for the whole family,” says Bobbi Potter Pinto, market manager.
