A Rowan County man who was added to the Sheriff’s Office’s most-wanted list as a sex offender who failed to report a change of address has been removed by authorities after they discovered he has cancer.

Willie James Blake Jr., 56, was placed on the list Friday. Investigators said Tuesday that Blake has been given less than three weeks to live.

Blake was released from prison in May.
