A Rowan County man wanted since 2016 on charges of first-degree rape and other sex offenses was recently extradited from California back to North Carolina to face those and additional charges.
Franklin Scott Crook, 40, remains in the Rowan County jail under a $1 million bond, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Crook faces 2016 charges in Rowan County for felony first-degree rape, taking indecent liberties with a child, and first-degree sex offense with a victim under 13.
Iredell, Mecklenburg and Rowan counties have issued warrants for Crook for failure to appear in court. Crook also has a pending 2013 warrant for failure to appear.
Officials said Crook was charged in Iredell County for conspiracy to traffick in LSD.
Crook was arrested on May 7 in California and has since been extradited to Rowan County, officials said.
Crook has previous convictions for maintaining a place for trafficking in a controlled substance, manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
