Today: Gospel Tailgate event
CLEVELAND — Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a Gospel Tailgate from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. today at Myers Park/Community Garden at 3760 Woodleaf Barber Road in Cleveland. Emcee is Rev. Timothy Bates of Cameron and Calvary Presbyterian Churches in Statesville. Musical emcee is Minister Towanda McNeil of New Zion Baptist Church in Salisbury.

Today: Macedonia Missionary Rainbow Tea
The pastor’s Aid Ministry will host its annual Rainbow Tea at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 2865 Enon Church Road, today at 3 p.m. The colors of the rainbow will be represented, each color presenting a talent of entertainment. There is no admission fee and anyone who desires may make a donation to the color team of their choice.
Following the program, food will be served in the fellowship hall. Rev. Jerry Miller is host pastor.

Hash at Love Christian Center
EAST SPENCER — Bishop Charles T. Hash will speak at the 10 a.m. service Sunday at Love Christian Center, 102 N. Long St.
Bishop Hash served as the first Vice Overseer of the Churches of God Apostolic, headquartered in Winston-Salem, and was senior pastor of Saint Matthew Word of Life Fellowship in Roanoke, Va.
Host pastor is Bishop Ronald Hash.
Well-known guest soloist to perform at First UCC
First United Church of Christ, 207 West Horah St., welcomes Teresa Moore-Mitchell as guest soloist at the 11 service on Sunday.
Moore-Mitchell is a classical concert artist who has performed on stages such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Germany, Italy, France, Greece, the Greek Islands and Cuba. She is the professor of voice at Livingstone College and adjunct vocal instructor at Catawba College.

UMA joint worship service
GRANITE QUARRY — The United Ministerial Alliance will host its joint worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 602 S. Salisbury Ave., Granite Quarry. Rev. Arthur Heggins of Salisbury’s St. Luke Baptist Church is the guest preacher. Rev. Rickey Johnson is host pastor.
The UMA’s business meeting is at 11 a.m., today at Tower of Power United Holy Church, 601 East Cemetery St.
First Calvary celebrates Men’s and Father’s Day
At First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 S. Long St., the Men’s and Father’s day celebration continues with breakfast today at 9:30 a.m. at IHOP, and culminates with service on Sunday. Dress casually in gear from your favorite school or sports team.
Theo Chunn will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service. Chunn is founder of TCJ Motivations Inc. and is currently an academic success counselor under the division of Academic Affairs at Winston-Salem State University.

Father’s Day at Immanuel
ROCKWELL — Immanuel Lutheran will celebrate Father’s Day by adorning the church sanctuary with red and white carnations in honor and memory of fathers past and present.
Chair Mandy Shulenburger will present a program honoring fathers and the Immanuel Chancel Choir will perform. There will be special music by Erwin Middle school student Caroline York with Dr. Rob, music director.

Purpose Driven Life classes
