Police blotter: Kannapolis church reports nothing stolen during break-in

SALISBURY — A Kannapolis pastor reported that nothing was stolen in a break-in at his church Wednesday, but someone did damage a back door, according to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Someone forced his way into a door at Covenant Baptist Church, located at 1400 Stone Ave. in Kannapolis, between 2:50 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
The pastor said the alarm sounded after the basement door was forced open. A bottom lock was broken.
Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded.

• F&M Bank reported fraud by false pretenses Wednesday at the South Avalon Drive location.
• A man reported at theft Wednesday in the 800 block of Coley Road.
• Terry Alphonso Sherrill, 41, was charged Wednesday with felony selling a controlled substance Schedule II in the 11800 block of Statesville Boulevard, Cleveland.
• Four people were charged Wednesday with first-degree trespassing after jumping in the quarry: Jackson Douglas Allen, 18; Kylie McKenna Groh, 18; Diana-Truc Nie Nguyen, 17; and Jean-Marc Jacques Ricard, 17, at 510 Balfour Quarry Road.
• Jeremiah Dayquan Howie, 27, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault on a female at N.C. 801, Woodleaf.
• Wayne Spry Overman, 53, was charged Wednesday with felony possession of a controlled substance Schedule I while at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
• Zachary Taylor Gunter, 21, was charged Wednesday with felony embezzlement in the 5900 block of Woodleaf Road.
• Chad Heath Morris, 44, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 200 block of Darlington Drive, China Grove.
• Adam Lee Gibson, 28, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI while at the Rowan County jail annex.
• Bradley Michael Perkins, 30, was charged Wednesday with felony breaking and entering a building while at the Rowan County jail annex.
In Salisbury Police Department reports:
• A woman on Thursday reported that a robbery occurred May 31 in the 1600 block of Standish Street.
• A man on Thursday said items were stolen from his automobile between midnight and 12:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Hill Street.
• A woman reported Thursday that someone accessed her bank account and took $500 in the 800 block of Newsome Road.
• A man reported a burglary Thursday in the 1600 block of Fourth Street.
• A man reported that items were stolen from his vehicle between 6 and 6:33 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Hill Street.
• A woman on Thursday said someone burglarized her home in the 300 block of Laurel Pointe Circle.
• Dennis Miller, 53, was charged Thursday with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture a Schedule II while at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
