SALISBURY — Police continue to search for vandals who damaged the Salvation Army of Rowan County food pantry.
The discovery was made Sunday morning at the Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 620 Bringle Ferry Road.
Donated items were thrown on the ground, and someone used a pickax from the tool shed to enter the walk-in freezer and refrigerator.
The vandals threw food around and spray-painted parts of the building. Because the refrigerator was damaged, the staff can no longer give that food to those in need.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Salisbury-Rowan CrimeStoppers at 866-639-5245 or online via http://tips.salisburyrowancrimestoppers.org/.
