SALISBURY — A woman was injured in a shooting at Brookview Apartments complex Wednesday.

The Salisbury Police Department said a suspect is in custody.

Officers were called to the apartment in the 800 block of South Martin Luther King Boulevard at 5:45 p.m. They found Felicia Martin, 53, with a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

Martin was treated at the scene, then taken by helicopter to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Her injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

The alleged shooter was at the apartment and was taken to the Police Department for questioning.
