Letter: A better use for parade money

The parade seems to be a divisive event within our community, and it is estimated to cost $35,000.
There has also been a lot of press given to the fact that teachers must provide school supplies out of their own pocket.
Let’s skip the parade and help fund our schools with that $35,000.
