SALISBURY — A 14-year-old boy was carrying a shotgun in his book bag at City Park on Monday, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Another juvenile told park staffers about the gun, authorities said.

The book bag was found in the woods near the park, located on Lake Drive. The gun inside had been disassembled.

The incident was reported at 12:10 p.m. Monday. Police officials said the case was referred to juvenile authorities, who are investigating.
