SPENCER — Sally Ann Peyton was arrested Monday and charged with being an accessory after the fact of a crime.
Police say Peyton, 28, of Spencer, allowed Christopher Mitchell to stay in her home knowing he was wanted for a felony offense. Peyton lied to officers in an attempt to prevent them from arresting Mitchell, authorities said.
Mitchell was wanted on charges of discharging a firearm at their neighbor.
Peyton let Mitchell stay with her from July 5 to July 15, police said.
Peyton is being held on a secure bond of $1,500.
She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
