Cedar Grove Men’s Day weekend
Cedar Grove Baptist Church’s third Annual Men’s Day Weekend starts Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with a men’s prayer breakfast. Guest speaker will be Pastor John Bankhead of New Bethel Baptist Church, Mocksville. A Men’s Forum will discuss the following: Mentoring Men to be Leaders in the Home and Community.
On Sunday at 11 a.m., the speaker will be Rev. Glen Pettiford of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem.
First Calvary Baptist Community Day
First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 S. Long St., will celebrate Community Day with a series of events. You are invited to dress casually and join us from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for indoor and outdoor activities, drumming workshop, liturgical dance workshop, food, fellowship and youth activities.
Our goals are to strengthen community ties, to encourage the youth to consider owning and operating their own businesses and to promote sustained economic growth and development within our community as we highlight local businesses, under the theme of “Living Together in Unity”.

Ten Year Memorial Program
CLEVELAND — The Revelations and the Cedar Grove Gospel Choir will host a Ten Year Memorial Program in memory of Vaughn Williams on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church. On program will be The Sensational Aires, The Mighty Pilgrimaires, Anointed Vessels of the Carolinas, Nu Revelations, The Gospel Travelaires of the Carolinas, Echoes for Christ, Cedar Grove Gospel Singers and others. Baptist Men’s breakfast
KANNAPOLIS — David Freeze is guest speaker for the Baptist Men’s breakfast at North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St., Sunday at 7:30 a.m. in McMurray Hall. A native of Salisbury , David is a farmer, writer, runner, coach and cyclist and motivational speaker, emphasizing that regular people can achieve amazing things. Tickets are $5. Rosh Hashanah at Temple Israel
Temple Israel, 1600 Brenner Ave., will hold Erev Rosh Hashanah services on Sunday at 8 a.m.
First Day Rosh Hashanah morning service is at 9:30 a.m. on Monday and will adjourn approximately at 12:30 p.m.
