SALISBURY — Though ballots for the November general election have yet to be received, the Rowan County Board of Elections Office is now accepting requests for absentee ballots.
Elections Director Nancy Evans said the county has ordered ballots and had been expecting them this week, though they may be delayed because of Hurricane Florence.
According to state rules, the office is supposed to mail requested forms by Sept. 22. Evans said she is confident the office will have the ballots by that date, “unless Florence is really, really severe.”
Requests can be made through the state form available on the county website, https://www.rowancountync.gov/Elections.
“Anyone can request the form,” said Evans, “regardless of if you’re sick, disabled, out of town or just wanting to sit on the couch and do nothing.”
Completed forms can be scanned and emailed to rowan.boe@ncsbe.gov; mailed to or dropped off at the Rowan County Board of Elections office at 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd. W., Suite D-10, Salisbury, NC 28147; or faxed to 704-216-8145.
