SALISBURY — Salisbury High School is on code yellow lockdown due to an event in the surrounding area.
A code yellow lockdown means that doors are locked and students remain in the classrooms, but class continues as normal.
Principal Luke Brown said in a ConnectEd message that the school went into lockdown at the request of the Salisbury Police Department. The event triggering the lockdown is unrelated to Salisbury High School, but has occurred in the surrounding community.
According to Lt. Greg Beam with the Salisbury Police Department, officers were serving a drug-related search warrant in the area. While police did not forsee and danger to the school, it is procedure to notify the school in these instances, Beam said.
