Marlene Kepley provided this aerial photograph of the N.C. Finishing Co. plant and a portion of the Yadkin Mill Village (bottom part of the photo), which she thinks was taken around 1968. It also was her way of advertising the 12th Yadkin Mill Village Reunion, which will be held at noon this coming Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Yadkin Baptist Church’s fellowship building. The gathering is a covered dish lunch. Those attending are asked to bring their favorite dish, desserts or drinks. All paper products will be provided. Most of the people who once lived — or still do — in the Yadkin community north of Spencer worked at the finishing plant, which no longer exists. ‘Please come and enjoy the food, fellowship and great memories made in our special little place called Yadkin,’ Kepley said.
