Ramp closed today on NC 152; Cannon Street to close

CHINA GROVE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews have closed the ramp to US 29 / 601 South from East bound NC 152 today. This closure will last for 30 days. The closure was originally planned for Sept. 23, during Hurricane Florence.
Drivers will be able to detour using Madison Road and U.S. 29.
Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
Cannon Street closing
ROCKWELL — NCDOT contractors will close a small portion of Cannon Street for replacement of the Cannon Street bridge over Fisher Branch, just southwest of Rockwell.
The work will include closing the roadway for approximately 100 days, demolishing the existing bridge, and replacing it with a box culvert.
The temporary road closure is scheduled to begin the morning of Oct. 1, and last through Jan. 15, 2019. If the work is completed prior to Jan. 15, Cannon Street will be reopened at that time. Notification will be made when the roadway is reopened.
The official, signed detour route will be Holshouser Road and NC-152 to get around the bridge location.
