Rowan weather: Get ready for rain

Like Tuesday, today will start with patchy fog. Then it will be mostly cloudy and 84. Wind will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph. We’ll have a 40 percent chance of showers between noon and 2 p.m., then a chance of thunderstorms after 2. A tenth to quarter inch of rainfall is expected.
Thunderstorms this afternoon and especially Thursday could become strong to severe, with gusty winds and hail.
Tonight’s chance of showers and storms is 80 percent, with showers between 1 and 5 a.m. and thunderstorms both before and after that. Patchy fog is expected. The low will be 67, with light west wind. A quarter to half inch of rainfall is possible.
Thursday has a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with showers before 10 a.m., followed by showers and thunderstorms. The fog could hang around until noon. It will be cloudy and 75, with south southeast wind around 6 mph in the afternoon.
There is a greater chance Thursday of severe storms, with damaging wind and large hail. Some storms could be slow moving, producing a lot of rain and lightning.
Thursday night has a 70 percent chance of showers, with isolated thunderstorms. It will be cloudy and 64, with east northeast wind around 6 mph, calming after midnight. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible.
Friday will be mostly cloudy and 78, with calm wind. The chance of showers, with thunderstorms after 11 a.m., is 50 percent. Friday night has just a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with steady rain after 2 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 65.
Saturday will be partly sunny and 79, with a 30 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 61.
Sunday will be partly sunny and 76. The low will be 60, with partly cloudy skies.
Monday will be mostly sunny and 78. The low will be 60 again, with partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and 78 again.
