Pizza Hut customer thwarts attempted robbery

SALISBURY — A Pizza Hut customer punched a would-be robber when the suspect approached him with a knife outside the restaurant, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
The customer, a 19-year-old man, told police that he had just gotten a pizza at the restaurant about 8 p.m Sunday when the suspect approached him as he was getting into his vehicle. The suspect said, “Hey,” then pulled out a knife.
The customer punched the suspect.
The suspect had a T-shirt tied around his face and work an orange shirt and shorts. No other description was given, police officials said.
The customer was not injured.
The restaurant is at 1031 E. Innes St.
No arrest had been made by Monday.
