Man arrested for having gun on Livingstone campus

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police charged a Charlotte man with possession of a firearm on school grounds — in this case, Livingstone College — in an arrest made Friday.
Eric Brandon Howell, 26, of O’Hara Drive, Charlotte, also is charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm — a revolver registered to a Stanly resident.
While being detained at the Rowan County Detention Center Saturday, Howell also was charged with possession of a controlled substance while in confinement.
Howell’s total bond was set at $20,000.
In another arrest by Salisbury Police, Marquise Jerome Cathcart, 31, of Salisbury, was charged with possession of Schedule II and Schedule VI controlled substances. The charges came Saturday.
Cathcart’s total bond was set at $3,340.
