GRANITE QUARRY — Salisbury attorney and Vietnam combat veteran Cecil Whitley presented the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard with a bronze fallen soldiers memorial sculpture Sunday.
The Veterans Day presentation came during Wittenberg Lutheran Church’s luncheon for the honor guard at the church.
The bronze grouping will be permanently displayed at the Rowan Veterans Honor Guard’s new headquarters at West End Plaza.
Accepting Whitley’s gift were Bill Lane, honor guard commander and chaplain, and honor guard adjutant Bill Anderson.
