Letter: I’m a Rowan County buyer

Our son, Clark, paid back his college tuition in one sentence. He relayed a prediction from a real estate guru. The question was “In the next ten years, where do you see the best real estate investments?” The guru’s answer – Rowan County.
He shared, the real estate forecast for Rowan will turn very positive for obvious reasons. The same “usual suspects” are finally coming together. Easier access, available commercial properties, improved and affordable housing are helping Rowan be a great place to live.
I believe Rowan will have a secret weapon — a terrific school system.
Remember, we are talking forecast, not current status. Over the next 10 years, here are three positive education upgrades. Pre-K programs, like ApSeed, should provide our school system with children better prepared to learn. The renewal process is allowing our K-12 system the flexibility to provide personalize learning and empowerment to our teachers. And, the vision of creating newer, better school facilities should become a reality.
Our county is investing in education. Investing, not spending, is a “value proposition” mindset. There is a tremendous return on investment (ROI) on prepared children, renewal programs and great school facilities. A great reputation for your schools helps the local economy and helps real estate investors make a generous ROI.
In the Charlotte area, it’s getting crowded and expensive. Rowan has space and competitive pricing (compared to Charlotte). So, I’m buying that Rowan is transforming into a very special place to live and invest. Thanks, Clark and thank you, Rowan County.
