Sunday-Monday cancellations

• City of Salisbury garbage collection delayed until Tuesday.
• Due to inclement weather, the Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 10, has been rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 17. Open session will begin at 6 PM. More information will be sent out later in the week.
• Catawba College and Livingstone College will be closed Monday, due to winter weather. Final exams scheduled at Catawba on Monday have been rescheduled.
• Salisbury Transit buses will not run on Monday. City administrative offices will also be closed. Recycling pickup will be on a one-day delay. Garbage collection will be delayed until noon, only if road conditions allow. If roadways are hazardous, garbage collection will follow the same one-day delay as recycling. A follow-up notification will be sent to residents.
• All Salisbury Parks and Recreation activities scheduled for Monday are canceled, and all facilities will be closed.
• All branches of Rowan Public Library are closed Monday.
• The YMCA of Rowan County will open before lunch on Monday, but will have no morning classes or child care. Please call ahead for specific availability at your location.
• Head Start is closed Monday in Davidson, Rowan, Stanly, Montgomery and Moore counties for students and staff.
• Spencer Town Hall will be closed Monday due to inclement weather.
• Rowan County Administrative Offices and the Rowan County Courthouse will be closed Monday.
• The Rowan One Church One Child Assistance Center will be closed on Monday, December 10, 2018 due to the inclement weather.
• December Business After Hours that will be held in conjunction with the Ground Breaking of the Wallace Cancer Center has been rescheduled. It will now take place Monday, Dec. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the corner of Mahaley Avenue and Mocksville Avenue adjacent to Rowan Medical Center.
• Cornerstone Church has canceled all Sunday activities. Its Christmas Dinner-Theater featuring Special Guest Adlan Cruz has been rescheduled for next year, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019. Tickets will apply to next year’s event. Refunds can also be processed at the Information Center.
• Calvary Baptist Church has canceled all Sunday activities and services.
• The Dickens Christmas dinner at restaurant Forty-Six in Kannapolis has been postponed until Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m. All tickets already sold for Dec. 9 will be honored. Refunds will also be offered. Refunds for tickets purchased online at http://dickenschristmasdinner.bpt.me, can be requested through the website. Refunds for tickets purchased at Forty-Six can be processed at the restaurant or by calling 704-250-4646.
• First United Church of Christ in Salisbury has cancelled all services. There will be no caroling Sunday afternoon.
• Lake Community Church has canceled all Sunday gatherings.
• Milford Hills United Methodist Church has canceled all Sunday activities.
• Mount Tabor United Methodist Church has canceled all Sunday activities.
• NC Transportation Museum’s Polar Express Train Ride for Sunday has been postponed to Dec. 23. All ticket holders of the Dec. 9 train ride will be shifted with the same seating and arrival time. Ticket holders will be contacted via email. The museum will work with ticket holders who cannot make Dec. 23 whether a different date or a full refund. The Polar Express Train Ride will operate as scheduled Friday and Saturday.
• The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education meeting slated for Monday has been rescheduled for Dec. 17.
• Rowan-Salisbury Schools will be closed on Monday, Dec. 10 for students. This will be an optional teacher workday for staff. Staff is to follow the Inclement Weather Protocol – Options 2-4. Please note that buildings will be closed on Monday. An email is being sent to staff.
• St. John’s Lutheran’s Church has canceled Sunday’s worship services, congregational meeting, Men’s Chorus concert and youth groups. The congregational meeting will now be Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. The Men’s Chorus concert will be Jan. 6.
• Trading Ford Baptist Church has canceled all Sunday services.
• Union Lutheran Church has canceled all of Sunday’s church activities.
