Rowan weather: Less wet; still windy

Parts of Rowan County are under a small stream flood advisory today.
Rain has tapered off, but will continue this afternoon, especially in the western area of the county.
Today will be cloudy and 58, with a 70 percent chance of showers, mostly before 3 p.m. It will be windy, with south southeast winds at 9-14 mph and gusts around 21 mph. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible.
Tonight has just a 30 percent chance of rain mainly before 9 p.m. Skies will clear gradually, and we’ll have a low of 38. West wind will be at 9-14 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.
Saturday will be sunny and 50, with west wind at 8-10 mph. We’ll dip below freezing Saturday night, with a low of 31. West wind around 5 mph will calm in the evening.
Sunday will be sunny and 54, with southwest wind at 5-7 mph in the afternoon. The low will be 35, with partly cloudy skies.
Christmas Eve will be sunny and 52. The low will be 31, with mostly clear skies. Rudolph can take a break.
Christmas Day will be mostly sunny and 51. It will be a partly cloudy night, with a low of 34.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 54; the low will be 36, with mostly cloudy skies.
