Letter: Police professionalism is much appreciated

Last Friday my wife was home alone when she saw a shirtless stranger walk past her bedroom window, across out patio, and disappear into our basement.
Soon after she called 911, Salisbury Police officers arrived. They gave multiple verbal commands for the trespasser to come out of our basement, but the man wouldn’t comply.
With no compliance from the trespasser, two brave officers cautiously entered the basement not knowing the layout of the basement or if the man was armed. The intruder fought the officers but was cuffed and taken off our property without major injuries to anyone.
In summary, I was impressed with the patience, training, and professionalism displayed by the Salisbury Police officers. Many thanks to all those involved from a very appreciative husband.
