Felecia Wesley: Lost at Christmas: Is it even possible?

In the hustle and bustle of this holiday season it is easy to be lost it all its preparation, decoration, singspiration and miss the true meaning of Christmas.
That’s what happened to me on my way back from Indiana on Interstate 40. The traffic was re-routed near the West Virginia and Virginia border. Under very dark rainy weather I missed the signs, lost my visual sensibility and took a road that led me up on a high mountain.
Later, I learned the name of the mountain from a co-worker who is home to that area. She told me it is called “Big Walker” Mountain.
I was like so many during this season who had been carried away by the festive atmosphere the holidays bring, and sometimes confusion as well. I knew I was lost, headed in the wrong direction but did not know how to find my way to the right path that would get me back on track.
Finally, I called on the Lord to help me — and He did. I remembered to dial 911, alone up on that mountain top with no other car nor person in sight.
I was afraid of being attacked by a bear or some evil person. I was relived to hear another person on the other end of the line. How was it even possible to get a signal!
The gentlemen spoke calmly to me and assured me he would lead me down the mountain. He told me he knew where I was and could even see me. “How incredible!” I thought. The Lord came to my rescue through a 911 dispatcher.
Friend, the Lord sees you and knows just where you are this Christmas. It is easy to be lost and alone in a busy world with people all around you, especially on this holiday, but that is exactly why He came at Christmas:
He is our hope in a world filled with hopelessness;
He is never-changing in an ever-changing world;
He was broken for a broken world;
He bore all our diseases in a world filled with sickness;
He is the bread of life in a world filled with hunger;
He became poor to a world of poverty that we may become rich in Him;
He came to seek and to save the lost in a world that is lost;
He is the Star of Bethlehem that shines brightest in the darkest of night;
and He is here to lead you to that perfect light this Christmas.
Will you let Him?
Have a Merry Christmas and a blessed and prosperous New Year!
