SALISBURY — Motorists can expect Jake Alexander Boulevard to be blocked in both directions for a short time Saturday morning at the Klumac Road intersection.
Blame it on a “power parade.”
James River Equipment, the local dealership for John Deere, will be moving roughly 40 pieces of heavy machinery from its longtime home on Klumac Road to its new location on Julian Road across from the Rowan County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m.
The company is calling the procession a power parade and it will briefly cross busy Jake Alexander Boulevard before continuing on Klumac Road past the Ichiban steak house and the Wallace Commons shopping center before turning left onto Julian Road.
Motorists on Julian Road also can expect some delays for the procession of equipment.
The new James River location is expected to open early next week, possibly Monday or Tuesday.
