Man shot in China Grove; dark SUV seen in area at that time

CHINA GROVE — A man suffered non-life-threatening injures in a shooting Sunday night in China Grove.
About 9:22 p.m. Sunday, officers from the China Grove Police Department and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office were called to 631 Harry St. when a shooting was reported.
Officers found 34-year-old Derrick Alexander of Salisbury with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
Witnesses said a dark-colored SUV was seen leaving the area after shots were fired.
