SALISBURY — A man was shot twice in the stomach Monday night in the West End community, the Salisbury Police Department reported. Police are continuing the investigation.
Marquise Robinson was shot in the 1300 block of Tabernacle Street, not far from Standish Street, at 8:53 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the area.
Officials said Robinson drove himself to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and called his girlfriend to meet him at the hospital.
According to her, they had gone to dinner with her children and she’s not sure where he went afterward. She told police he called her about 20 minutes after she got home.
Police went door-to-door in the area looking for witnesses. No one was able to provide a description of a person or vehicle involved in the shooting.
Robinson’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
