WOODLEAF — A 21-year-old woman has been charged with being an accessory to murder in a fatal shooting Sunday on Cone Drive.
Savanah Dial, who was charged Thursday, reportedly fled the scene of the shooting with 25-year-old Hayden Godair, who has been charged with murder, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.
Godair and Dial are charged in connection with a shooting that killed 17-year-old Jabari Isaiah Rogers, who died in a driveway after livesaving attempts failed.
The Sheriff’s Office said Godair and Dial stole a truck Sunday afternoon from Parks Drive in Woodleaf — about a mile from the murder scene. At 2 a.m. Monday in Robeson County, Godair was arrested and taken into custody after a caller reported a suspicious vehicle that appeared to be stuck in the mud.
In arresting Godair, officers in Robeson County found the stolen truck, a 1998 GMC Sonoma, and a stolen handgun from Rowan County, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office said Godair traveled to Robeson County with Dial, who has also been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm in connection with the murder.
Dial will remain in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond. Godair remains in jail under no bond.
